Getting Started with Managed Secure Messaging (BMSM)⚓︎
Bitstream Managed Secure Messaging (BMSM) is a service that allows you to send encrypted and secure messages to customers and partners. This service is particularly useful for electronically transmitting sensitive information and/or attachments, such as financial documents. Learn more on our product page.
BMSM is an opt-in service. Please Submit a Ticket to request access.

Installing the Extension⚓︎
Important
Before beginning, ensure your account is secured by enabling 2-Factor Authentication (2FA).
1. Open either the Google Chrome , or Microsoft Edge browser. Both browsers are compatible.
For demonstrative purposes, we are using Microsoft Edge. The procedure is identical for either one, except where noted
Google Chrome Users
If you are using Google Chrome, you may wish to also set up Chrome Sync, so that your extension syncs with your Google Workspace account (if applicable).
2. Navigate to the following:
3. Select Add to Chrome, then select Add extension, if prompted
Microsoft Edge Users
If you are using Microsoft Edge, you may need to enable extensions first:
3a. Click Allow extensions from other stores
3b. Click Allow
3c. Now you can perform Step 3 above
Activating the Service⚓︎
1. Once you have installed the extension, navigate to your webmail (eg. gmail.com)
2. You should immediately be prompted to activate the service (also referred to as "Virtru"). Select Activate
3. You should then receive a "Your email address is activated" dialog. You're all set now; you may select Done
