Restoring Passwords⚓︎

Warning

Saving passwords to your browser is inherently unsafe. We advise using a Password Manager instead.

Note

Restoring your passwords in Chrome will involve uploading them to your managed Google account (if available).

  1. Navigate to the following:

passwords.google.com

  1. Sign into your Google account, if needed. You may need to navigate back to the original link above, after signing in

  2. Select its Settings

  3. Select Import, under Import passwords

  4. Navigate to the location of your passwords CSV file. Select it, then select Open

  5. Select Import

  1. Click on the overflow menu

  2. Select Settings

  3. Navigate to Profiles > Passwords

  4. Select its overflow menu

  5. Select Import passwords

  6. Choose Passwords CSV File, then select Choose file

  7. Navigate to the location of your passwords CSV file. Select it, then select Open

That's it! Your passwords should be restored to their appropriate locations.

Danger

A passwords CSV file is unencrypted. Anyone with access to it can read its contents. Securely delete this file when you are finished and have confirmed your passwords are restored.
