Accessing a File/Scans Share⚓︎
Mobile Devices
Mobile devices will not display File Shares by default. Please submit a ticket to have shortcuts added.
Shares will only be accessible while on-site. You may leverage BMRD to remote into your workstation, in order to access shares while off-site.
Workstations have policies applied, which automatically mount shares as shortcuts on your Desktop, as well as your Network Locations in the File Explorer.
Additionally, Users have policies applied that grant or deny access to sensitive shares, based on criteria as determined by management.
Example
Certain shares, such as SCANS-ACCOUNTING, are protected, and are only accessible by certain users.
1. Identify the icon of the share you wish to view - either on the Desktop, or within Network Locations in the File Explorer
2. Click on a share icon to reveal the full name. Double-click on the icon of the share you wish to access
3. Navigate to the desired directory within the share
4. Optionally, drag the icon to the Desktop and/or Quick Access sidebar, for easy access
Warning
For security hygiene purposes, certain SCANS shares may be read-only, and may be subject to automatic purging on a regular interval. This means that you can only view files located on these shares, but cannot modify them.
Copy and paste any files that you need to keep, to a safe location - as these shares are ephemeral, and files contained within may be deleted programmatically.
