Getting Started with 1Password

1Password is a password manager that securely stores your work passwords and helps you sign in to sites and apps without having to remember or retype them. Bitstream provides 1Password to employees so credentials stay encrypted, shareable with the right teammates, and out of spreadsheets, emails, and sticky notes.

What you can do with it

  • Save passwords once and have them autofill across your browser, desktop, and phone.
  • Share credentials with teammates through shared vaults instead of email or chat.
  • Generate strong, unique passwords for every site you sign up to.
  • Get notified when a password you use shows up in a known data breach.

How to get started

1. Submit a ticket requesting 1Password access. Mention your department or role if you’ll need access to shared vaults.

2. You’ll receive an activation email from 1Password at your work address.

3. Follow Setting up Your 1Password Account to create your account and complete first sign-in.

4. Once your account is confirmed by Bitstream in the admin console, you’ll be added to the shared vaults that match your access request.
