Stay Alert for Fake RingCentral Voicemail Emails

We’ve seen a new phishing email pretending to be a RingCentral voicemail notification. It looks similar to a real voicemail alert but is actually designed to steal your login credentials.

Here’s how to spot the fake:

  • The email comes from an unusual address (not @ringcentral.com).
  • There’s no voicemail audio file attached.
  • It includes a “Review Voice Mail” or “Listen Now” button that asks you to log in.
  • The formatting looks a little off, with odd date/time styles or spacing.

Do not click any links in these messages. If you get one, delete it or report it as phishing.

Legitimate RingCentral voicemail emails always:

  • Come from no-reply@ringcentral.com
  • Include an audio attachment (.wav or .mp3)
  • Do not ask you to log in through a button link

If you’re unsure whether a message is real, forward it to [ security@bitstreamllc.com ] (or your internal security contact) and we’ll confirm.

Thanks for staying alert and helping to protect your accounts.

Action Required: Azure VPN Breaking Change

Am I affected?

This affects users of the Azure VPN service (which connects users to remote resources while away from the office).

If you are unsure - note that if the Azure VPN Client application is configured on your computer, you will find it in your Start menu, and/or your taskbar:

I use this service. What action is required of me?

A very simple update needs to occur here. However we are always available to assist if necessary:

Please open the Azure VPN Client application. From there:

  1. Select the Context Menu, then select Configure.
  2. Scroll to the Audience field
  3. Delete and replace the existing value with the following, then select Save:

Tip

Some pro tip hotkeys:

Ctrl + A: select all

Ctrl + C: copy

Ctrl + V: paste

Success

A reboot for good measure, but that should be it!
